Product Description
STRESS MANAGEMENT FOR LIFE: A RESEARCH-BASED EXPERIENTIAL APPROACH was written to emphasize experiential learning by clearly explaining the “how to” of stress management and prevention. Michael Olpin and Margie Hesson offer students more than just a book about stress; they offer students a life-changing experience. Your students will thank you for this text! After reading STRESS MANAGEMENT FOR LIFE: A RESEARCH-BASED EXPERIENTIAL APPROACH, students will realize that living with stress is unnecessary and that there are simple and effective ways to create a happier, stress-free life.

This book is absolutely fabulous. It has the best explanations of the concept of stress, its contributing factors, and how to manage stress that I have ever seen. Whether for school or personal use, this book is great. It really helped me gain more understanding and control in my life - it is not just some self-help book. It explains the mechanics and science of stress and stress management in a clear way for anyone to understand so that you can really get a grasp on it. It covers SO many different aspects, such as interpersonal interactions with other people, time management, managing emotions, relaxation methods, analyzing the way we perceive situations, how the stress-hormones work (and what goes on in our brains and bodies during the stress-response), and so so so much more. Even just the stuff I learned about how to interact more effectively with people or how to deal with stressful situations more effectively was so good that I think if everyone read this book, the entire world would be a better place. If people just better understood how their brains and emotions work they could have more control over them. Everyone needs to read this! I bought this for a psychology class and it has been a wonderful influence in teaching me how to improve my own quality of life, and to not let other people and situations determine my happiness.

If you need this book for a college class, BEWARE. This is the international edition, most info is the same but there are differences. Sellers should list International edition in heading for listing. It is in fine print at bottom of posting. when I printed listing ouot the purchase button was on page 1 the information about the international edition was on page 3. BEWARE.

I really liked this book! It was for a Human Development class on stress management…

and at first I thought we would be reading stuffy material that would just add to our stress…

but I was wrong!

This book is fresh, filled with modern, updated information, and written in a really friendly voice. It also has pictures in it.

I especially liked the first-hand stories it had in it by real people who have dealt with their own stress. :)
